Kostroma - an outpost of the north-eastern borders of Russia.
In 1246 Jaroslav Gromov gave Kostroma during the reign of his youngest son, Basil, and in the same year, the city became the capital of Kostroma an independent principality. In the first half of XIV century, more precisely in 1364, Kostroma is a member of the Moscow principality, since it is inseparable from the history and culture of all-Russian state. It is closely related to the election of Mikhail Romanov throne. May not have happened if not patriotic deed of Ivan Susanin, who started the Polish squad, coming in Kostroma, in impenetrable jungle, and did not let the enemies find their way into the city. Kostroma is called "little sister" of Moscow. Architecture and town planning is one of the brightest examples of Russian town-planning.
