EMPLOYMENT:

12/2000-Present:
Main Street Animal Hospital
Veterinary Technician

Assisting with appointments, surgery, x-raying, and treatments, drawing blood, I.V. catheter placement, along with laboratory tests. Also reception work to include answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, etc.



3/2003-2/2004:
Pet caretaker
Norris family Caring for 2 horses on a daily basis, feeding, stalls, turnout, checking for injury/illness.

5/2000-2002:
River Run Farm Daily
Stable Worker: barn chores, including feeding, watering, turnout, stall cleaning and any basic care that needed to be provided for the horses.

5/2000-8/2000: Seasonal.
Sales with State Line Tack Shop Assisted people with their purchases of supplements, tack, clothing, etc. also worked on a cash register.

1/1999-8/1999:
Brushwood Veterinary Clinic
Veterinary Assistant: Assisted vet during daily duties, including animal restraint, cleaning kennels, x-raying, checking patients in and out, giving fluids, setting up vaccines, prepping for surgery and assisting with dentals and surgeries.



6/1998-6/1999, Receptionist and kennel worker, Salem Animal Hospital Reception work entailed filing, answering phones and checking patients in and out and making up medications for dispensing. Kennel work included cleaning and sterilizing cages, feeding and watering animals, administering medications, fluids and walking dogs.


6/1993-6/1998:
Birchmeadow Acres
Stable worker: Daily care of the horses entailed cleaning stalls, feeding, turning out and exercising horses as well as first aid treatments.

Special skills

Use Microsoft word, excel, project, internet, emailing, faxing, etc. I very familiar with the Avimark and PSI programs. I have horseback riding experience in both dressage and hunter/jumper. I have owned/leased numerous horses or various levels. I was previously a member of the Pre-vet club, Health Occupations Students of America, Humane Society, St. Joseph’s youth group and a MSPCA volunteer for 4 years.
