Surgical nursing duties included induction/monitoring of anesthesia, doctor assistance, and occasional dental extractions. March 2005 - September 2007: Estrella Veterinary Hospital Capistrano Beach, CA Registered Veterinary Technician As a veterinary technician, responsible for placing i.v. catheters, obtaining various lab samples, assisting in surgery as well as monitoring anesthesia and other daily tasks. June 1999 - November 2004: Arroyo PetCare Center Lake Forest, CA Front Office Manager Responsible for the front desk area daily tasks and other management duties. These include, answering phones, appointment scheduling and customer service. March 1999 - June 1999: Olympiad Animal Hospital Mission Viejo, CA Vet/Tech Assistant Most of my duties were concentrated in the back office, giving vaccines, bathing, grooming and other general kennel duties. Skills: Proficient with most computer programs including Avimark, Impromed and Cornerstone. In customer service for many years creating positive client relationships. Comfortable with standard and some advanced technical procedures. Education: October 2006: Professional Veterinary Assistant School Garden Grove, CA Other After over 4 years experience in the veterinary field I was accepted in the "Accelerated Veterinary Technician Program". After 16 months of school I was able to take my California state board exam and achieve my license. Volunteer Experience: During my ROP course I completed an internship at the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter. My main tasks were cleaning the kennels but also included overall physical and emotional care of the animals. It was a wonderful, eye opening experience in which I learned many of the joys and associated with the animal care field. Certifications: I have completed the ROP Occupations Course that was entitled "Animal Care Occupations". During this course we studied a wide array of subjects which included small animal anatomy, different occupations in the field, medical terminology and common diseases for both canine and feline breeds.
